Irrespective of whether you agree or disagree with the views in the above article that raises the suggestions that - "industry is losing $33B per year, or the funds from piracy sales aid criminals, or are funding terrorism or it's all about protecting fair use rights of consumers, or even the perennial, the statistics are a bunch of lies anyway!" - there is a fundamental item missing in the logic of these "cry wolf statements".
It's not a question of how much the industry is losing - it's really a question of how much time and effort you are both losing and wasting that really ought to be better spent on your core business activities, focusing on your core business goals and objectives to derive better shareholder/stakeholder value.
Audits are a way of life but they can be a hell of a lot simpler and cheaper to perform if you take a more pragmatic approach.
The industry anti-piracy leaders are failing to address this topic when they focus on their own losses! Our experience gained over 15 years is that industry itself is losing significantly more!
