Our fire chief sould like for us to perform a formal standard of coverage sufvey. A firm called Citygate does a lot of this. Does anyone have any information about audits in this area or about the work of Citygate? (they do mapping and use the National Fire Suppression Association's standards.
Fire department performance audits I already have one hand are those from Carson City, Nevada, Chesterfield County, Virginia, Fullerton, California, Manchester, New Hampshire, and Orlando Florida. I also have an article done by some Carnegie Mellon public policy grad students and presented to the Pittsburgh City Council in 2003 and 2004, titled Decision Support Tehnology for Public Safety Resource Allocation: Location of Fire Stations in a Fiscally Constrained Environment.
thanks
